You can recycle the cardboard boxes along with your usual recycling. The woolcool and ice blocks need to be returned to us, so please leave them out and we’ll collect them when we make your next delivery.
Like you, we hate unnecessary waste. So we’re working on a deposit scheme for re-usable packaging.
FED. meals have been thoughtfully packaged in recyclable aluminium trays.
You can put these in your kerbside public recycling and it will be collected by your local recycler.
Inside the boxes is a layer of insulation called Woolcool, a sustainable and highly effective natural insulation material that is made out of sheep’s wool. The best part about Woolcool is its recyclable, so if you would like to send your wool cool and ice packs back to us please pop us an email on hello@getfed.co.nz and we will send you a courier label.

Yes! Packaging has been a really important consideration for us and we pride ourselves on using eco-friendly materials. Your aluminium foil trays can be recycled - just put it out with your kerbside recycling.
.
See the following for specific recycling information.
Prepared Meal Trays and Sleeves: The trays are made from recyclable aluminium foil.
You can put these in your kerbside or public recycling and it will be collected by your local recycler.
Cardboard boxes: These can be broken down and put into your household recycling
Gel Packs: Reusable and recyclable. The packs are water-soluble, non-toxic, and non-hazardous. If you’d like to recycle, clip the corner, discard the gel in the bin, and recycle the plastic pouch in the soft plastics recycling at your local supermarket. Or leave them out and we’ll collect them when we deliver.
Small Pottles: The small clear containers used for condiments and herbs are made from plants, not oil and are certified commercially compostable – so pop them in a green bin NOT in the recycling.
Woolcool insulation: Inside the boxes is a layer of insulation called Woolcool, a sustainable and highly effective natural insulation material that is made out of sheep’s wool. The best part about Woolcool is its recyclable, so if you are in Auckland please leave your Woolcool out for your delivery driver to collect when you get your next box and we’ll reuse it. Unfortunately we are unable to take returns of Woolcool for those outside of Auckland.
As new business, what you think about what we’re doing is pretty important for us to hear.
